Looking at competitors
http://www.goinggoingbike.com/
- Clear menu which stays at the top making it easy for users to navigate around the site
- Home page is not cluttered with too much information making it easy to understand the site
- the style of the site is too white making it look washed out.
- Useful menu of the left side to limit down the search by category
The site has been attacked with spam messages. I will need to make sure my site is secure to avoid these sort of problems.
http://www.onceridden.com/
- This site has too much going on, it makes the site feel cluttered
- not an easy user experience
- It appears high on Google when searing for second hand bikes but I wouldn't use it, I would quickly search for a better site to use
- not a very nice site to look at, it looks very outdated
- There are far to many options/categoties when searching for a bike. after going through through the options you then find that half the categories are empty with no bikes listed.
http://www.pinkbike.com/
- This site has a very annoying script applied to it, when the site loads it will slowly rotate off the screen. this makes it almost unusable. You have to press the refresh button to stop this annoying motion.
- The site makes good use of featured content boxes but still manages to look too cluttered.
- The overall design is not very nice
- The categories for the classified adds is far too populated making it look messy when searching for a bike.
- It needs to be simplified which fewer categories
- The forum page is like any other generic forum page
- It is nice and clear to use with a decent sized gap between each post making it easy to read
http://roadcyclinguk.com
