  • Talk to other people to make sure your not going off track with the brief
  • Do your own research
  • Ask friends and family
  • Use people who think in similar ways
  • Talk to a wider target audience
  • Find out the history of the brand
  • What they did before

How to present an idea

  • Story board
  • Work out how it will be constructed before getting to the final piece
  • put it on a timeline with the script and work out which parts don't work/drag.
  • Plan
  • Think logically 

How to read a brief

  • Stare at the brief
  • think about it
  • interrogate it
  • use post it notes
  • stare at it more
  • interrogate it again
  • Dont let technical skills get in the way of an idea, you can always get other people involved to make it work
  • Look at the language
  • Meet up with the client if possible

Understanding the target audience

  • Do your research
  • Collaborate 
  • Get out of the comfort zone
  • Think bigger
